What's The Big Idea? - Life In Virginia

Blimey I've been in Virginia for almost 4 months, sadly half the things i wanted to do I haven't gotten the chance to --- due to the masses of snow when i first arrived I've never seen so much snow in my life it was like 30 inches and it kept on coming, we were snowed in for almost 2 weeks, watched the New Orleans Saints win the Superbowl which was exciting and so bloody annoying at the same time, then theres the premier league i think it followed me from London my darling husband watches it here Lord save me...then last week i think was the NFL draft a bunch of 20 -25 year olds getting drafted to play with major football teams...it was 4 hours long - 4 hours of nonsense which i watched with my husband - things we do for love eh!

People drive like manics here and scares the hell outta me...granted people drive like crazy people no matter where you are in the world but this is just madness coz they text as they drive hence I'm assuming that being the number one cause of death while driving...and I'm a little reluctant to get my driving licence here, though at the beginning i was excited lets just say since then the excitement has vanished:/oh yeah and they drive on the wrong side of the road here --- just thought I'd put that out there!

Spent some time with my Inlaws especially my youngest SIL shes adorable and makes me laugh every single time with her crazy jokes and my other SIL who is super cute too she reminds me alot of my little sister Wafaa.

In April I managed to go to my very first Cherry Blossom Festival with my husband which was wonderful and to the Baltimore aquarium in Maryland to see the dolphin show plus all the little fishes i think i underestimated how many people were gonna be there with their kids, at one point i thought i was gonna step on somebodies kid lol they were scattered everywhere i wouldn't be surprised if a few parents ended up losing one or two kids...Oh oh oh we also went to the zoo in DC though i still haven't managed to see all of it, its massive...Will post pics soon!

Another thing i noticed which is that they show adverts every five minutes and it puts me off watching the damn show...cant they just wait? and then show their adverts...besides the commercials being every 5 minutes is that all they show is fast food "come to Popeye's" or "da da da da dum hmmm I'm loving it" its either that or diet pills to lose all that fat you've gained since eating junk! Since i don't take the bus or underground and we drive everywhere I've gained about 4 pounds or so and I'm so desperately trying to lose it, my honey and I bought the Wii console and I've been trying to exercise to lose the few pounds I've gained its got everything basically and it tracks your progress it shamelessly makes you admit how you managed to gain any weight too and it shows up on your graph lol! - one of the many reason are "I ate too much." and I'm sure we are all guilty of that sometimes:P But theres no need to point it out lol...Besides that being one of my many tasks i now have to control is what i eat coz almost if not everything is genetically modified omg i miss the days of food tasting good and not wondering if it contains any nasty preservatives...The food doesn't taste good or remotely the same to me:/and i miss my mumzies cooking.

P.S. Oh London how i miss thee. Promise i wont take you for granted ever again!

P.P.S. I really thought i was gonna go mad if i heard the name Payton Manning one more time during the football season...Thank God that's over with.

P.P.P.S. Feels like I've been married to my darling husband for many years though we're only emerging our 10th monthiversary this month:) Alhamdulilah.

Wow 4 months! I'm glad everything is going okay and that you feel more at home as the days go by. It sounds like a lot of fun - do you find it terribly different from the UK?

VA's a nice place, i hope you're liking it. I'm sure it's VERY different from Ldn but in no time i'm sure you'll get used to it all, Superbowl included. I'm not American but i got roped into watching the New Orleans Saints win by my brother, woke up at 4am an all for it. lol.

Glad to see you blogging again, and hope to hear more from you.

Oh, be sure to visit the Natural History Museum in DC, i wanted to live there when i visited it, Lol.

Loll. Good to read you Mina. I've been away from blogging for a while now. I will try to post something soon, but its refreshing to read your perspectives on what you're experiencing lol. For the commercials, yea its annoying and that's why I record all my shows, I never watch them live, just record them on the dvr and watch them afterward that way I can fast forward when it's commercial time. Oh for driving, people in VA drive better than the ones in DC & MD LOLLL because the rules are way stricter in VA, you can get away with a lot of stuff in DC&MD but the VA cops are crazyyyyyyyyyyy. We should work out together I have 15 pounds to lose :) .

Hijabee - Woman you've been gone forever...come back quick and tell us your adventurous of mommyhood:)

I record them now...its too much with their adverts, it drives me crazy hehe! Sure lets work out together, set a date:P

Yeah the speed limit in DC/MD is crazy people driving like mainics it scares me lol:/your right there are cops everywhere in VA which is sort of a good thing keeps people in check to make sure they are behaving themselves!
